OUR SPECIES
WHITE BIRCH
White birch, also called paper birch because of its thin white bark, has a very simple and discreet grain. Its light beige color is easily stained, being a very common species for furniture and cabinet making.
YELLOW BIRCH
A species very similar to white birch, the color of yellow birch will have slightly more yellowish tones. It has the same characteristics as birch, giving it a place of choice in the furniture industry.
HARD MAPLE
Maple, a very common species in North America, varies in color from a creamy white when harvested in winter to a pale beige when harvested in summer. Its grain is very subtle and its hardness makes it ideal for making furniture, architectural millworks and cutting boards. It is a versatile species due to its ease of staining and is widely used in architectural cabinetry projects.
SOFT MAPLE
Soft maple is very similar to hard maple, with a more grayish tinge to its color. This species is about 25% softer than maple and is often the perfect species to make bent or rounded hardwood components. It is often used in the manufacturing of musical instruments.
WHITE OAK
White oak has a very pronounced grain, giving a unique look to products made from this species. Because of its high strength, it is often used in furniture, flooring and even caskets. Its color varies from beige to light brown.
RED OAK
Red oak is the most common hardwood species in the eastern United States, which is why it is one of the most popular species used in the manufacturing of many hardwood products. Its color varies from a light pink to red. Many institutions, such as restaurant chains and hotels use it in their decor
CHERRY
Cherry is rightfully named, ranging in color from a very pale pink to a dark pink when exposed to light. Less durable than maple or oak, it is still used in cabinetry, furniture and architectural projects, its color and light grain being highly sought after.
BLACK WALNUT
Walnut is a very rare species with a unique color. Its dark brown hue comes out beautifully when naturally varnished. Walnut is used in many types of projects and is frequently seen in furniture making.
